Production Company Madre Welcomes Director Nico Bori

May. 07, 2025

Globally acclaimed production company MADRE has signed filmmaker Nico Bori to its roster of exceptional directorial talent.

Originally from Argentina and now based in Berlin, Bori’s addition strengthens MADRE’s growing footprint in Europe and the UK, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to showcasing diverse cultural perspectives.

Bori’s journey began as a child making animated films before stepping away from creative pursuits to study international business and marketing. He worked for Google in Ireland before following a creative calling that led him across Africa, ultimately directing films for expeditions company Dragoman.

His global experience and passion for connecting people through story are the foundation of his style. Blending cinematic scale with emotional depth, Bori’s films reflect his documentary roots epic yet intimate, visually rich yet deeply human.

His award-winning branded shorts include Breaking Glass for Scandinavian Airlines, telling the story of the first female commercial pilot, and The Decision, a moving short on organ donation awareness in Argentina. His work has earned him a Young Director Award, a Ciclope Award, a Cannes Corporate Award, and recognition from 1.4, Kinsale Shark, and Clio Awards.

Bori brings a seamless command of VFX and CGI, always in service of story. This narrative vision, paired with his cinematic scale and performance-driven work, makes him a natural fit for commercial storytelling. His upcoming campaign for Lime features six tongue-in-cheek films capturing iconic human moments through the lens of micro-mobility—timeless storytelling with a modern, humorous edge.

Bori said:

“I want to tell stories that cut through the clutter. The spirit at MADRE feels truly international. They’re deeply committed to craft, and I feel seen in the kind of work they support. After meeting Carl Wyant at several festivals and getting to know the MADRE team, I knew I’d found the right home for this next chapter.”

MADRE Partner and Managing Director Jonathan Ker added:

“I was struck by the emotional resonance, scale, and polish of Nico’s work—especially knowing it was created on tight budgets. His ambition, clarity of vision, and commitment to the craft are extraordinary. We’re thrilled to welcome him and can’t wait to share his work with agencies and brands.”
