Juan Jose Posada returns to Colombia as Chief Creative Officer at TBWA
Oct. 27, 2026
Santiago Cortés, CEO of TBWA Colombia, announces the appointment of Juan José Posada as Chief Creative Officer (CCO). His appointment marks another milestone in the plan that Omnicom Advertising (OA) Latin America, under the leadership of José Terán, has been advancing since early 2026 to strengthen the agency’s capabilities, develop its talent, and elevate the work delivered to clients.
Following the recent announcement of Santiago Cortés as CEO, Posada’s appointment brings together two Colombian leaders with distinguished international careers and a deep understanding of the local market. Together, they will lead a new chapter focused on connecting strategy, creativity, and business vision to help brands build relevance and drive growth.
José Terán, CEO of Omnicom Advertising Latin America said:
“Juan José’s arrival marks another step forward in the plan we have been developing since the beginning of this year to strengthen our operation in Colombia. With Santiago and Juan José, we bring together two Colombians who have built international careers, led large teams, and worked with brands across different markets. That experience, combined with the talent at TBWA Colombia and the regional and global support of Omnicom Advertising, allows us to raise the bar for our clients. We share a fundamental belief: creative excellence and business results are built on ambition, trust, and strong human values."
Juanjo Posada brings extensive experience across Colombia, the United Kingdom, and Mexico, as well as regional creative leadership experience at two international agency networks. He was the first Colombian creative professional to lead an agency’s creative operations in the United Kingdom and has worked in London, Mexico City, Bogotá, Cali, and Medellín.
In 2024, he was recognized as Latin America’s No. 1 Chief Creative Officer by The One Show and ranked second globally by New York’s Art Directors Club. He is also among Mexico’s ten most admired advertising professionals, according to Agency Scope 2025, and has been named Colombia’s Best Creative Director three times by El Ojo de Iberoamérica. His career includes more than twenty international Grand Prix awards at festivals such as D&AD, The One Show, Clio, ADC, and the London International Awards.
Beyond these accolades, his appointment aims to strengthen TBWA Colombia’s ability to develop ideas that address brands’ challenges, engage audiences, and deliver business results. Posada will work alongside Cortés and the agency’s team to advance creative excellence, develop talent, and capitalize on collaboration opportunities across the regional and global network.
Santiago Cortés, CEO of TBWA Colombia said:
"Juanjo and I believe that creativity should be at the heart of business, and that the best results come from teams built on talent, trust, and ambition. He brings an international perspective that complements the strong capabilities and deep market knowledge already in place at TBWA Colombia. I’m glad we’ll be working together again, and I look forward to building an agency with our team that challenges conventions and helps our clients grow. That’s what this next chapter is all about, and it’s at the core of how we approach Disruption."
Juanjo Posada added:
“From the global level to the local market, there is a great deal about this new challenge that excites me. Globally, I'm drawn to the opportunity to work with an agency that Adweek has named Global Agency of the Year in four of the past eight years and that carries forward the remarkable legacy of Bill Bernbach, one of the figures who forever transformed the advertising industry. At the regional level, José Terán’s leadership stands out not only for his professional track record but also for his personal qualities. It reflects something I deeply identify with: the conviction that outstanding results come from combining excellence, ambition, and humanity. On the local front, I am excited to join a team that has demonstrated talent and consistency for years and to work alongside Santiago Cortés again. It is a pleasure to reconnect with him professionally. I have witnessed his extraordinary international career, and I look forward to contributing alongside him in this new chapter. As two Colombians, we’ve had the opportunity to work with business leaders and marketing teams across markets as diverse as Tokyo, New York, London, Mexico City, and Lima. Those experiences have given us a broader perspective that, combined with our understanding of the Colombian market, we believe can bring real value to the industry and help local brands grow."
With this appointment, TBWA Colombia continues to strengthen its leadership team, bringing together international experience, local market knowledge, and a shared vision of the value of creativity. This new chapter is supported by OA Latin America and TBWA’s global network, with the aim of strengthening the agency’s capabilities and unlocking new opportunities for its clients.
