Danish Talent of the Year Reprise Signs with Bacon
Nov. 21, 2023
Some things in life just feel like a natural match, the freshly announced collaboration between Reprise and Bacon being one of them. This year the Danish creative duo, consisting of director Mattis Huus Heurlin and DOP Milan Bjornild, was named Talent of the Year at Denmark's True Award, and Bacon took home the Producer's Award at the Young Director Award in Cannes. In other words: A couple of Scandinavia’s biggest talents are now officially joining one of the most successful talent developers in the world of commercial filmmaking.
Mette Jermiin, CEO & EP at Bacon said:
"Reprise is a creative duo that masters a wide variety of very different on-screen disciplines, ranging from dialogue-driven narrative projects to both meticulously orchestrated or hauntingly realistic commercial work. Needless to say, we are really excited to help develop their versatile skill set even further."
And the constellation is actually not something totally new, as Bacon and Reprise have already worked together on numerous projects, including the interpretive fashion film MYKONOS for Danish designer Nikolaj Storm.
Samuel Cantor, COO & EP at Bacon said:
"We have been working towards making Mattis and Milan a part of the Bacon family for a long time, so we’re overjoyed to finally be able to make the collaboration official. Their work ethic and craft is always on point, which makes for enormous filmmaking potential."
Besides making waves in their home country of Denmark, Reprise is also gaining international attention, winning Best International Short Film for their film Salmon at the Norwich Film Festival as well as the Grand Prix, Best Screenplay and Best Actor at Filmoramax in Lyon. And with the future seemingly looking bright, joining the Bacon roster seemed like a natural next step for the duo.
Mattis Huus Heurlin, director-half of the Reprise duo said:
"Bacon is a legendary company that we’ve always looked up to. Our work is very inspired by their creative output, so it’s truly a place that we’re incredibly proud to now get to be a part of."
Mattis’ DOP-counterpart, Milan Bjornild said:
“The creative energy at Bacon is unique, and really drives you to challenge yourself in new ways – so we’re extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue to develop our talents here,”
