From the Mediterranean to the Nordics - Holidays You Don't Want to Leave

The iconic Scandinavian advertising universe "Holiday’s you don’t want to leave" is back, and it hasn’t lost its grip. Originally launched in the mid-2000s, the concept that turned end-of-holiday dread into pop-cultural comedy now returns in a new series of three commercials, revived for the Nordic audience.

The new films capture emotional moments of childlike resistance: families barricading hotel rooms with suitcases, a man clinging desperately to an ancient pillar in Rhodes’ old town, and travelers hiding under sunbeds in a final attempt to delay check-out. Each scenario starts with a sense of suspense right before getting caught, only to reveal the innocent, universal feeling the campaign is built on: some holidays are so good, you really don’t want to go home.

Produced by Bacon and directed by Øyvind Holtmon, the commercials strike a faster, more contemporary tone than the originals, adapted for today’s media landscape without losing the warmth and humor that defined the original films and got the maximum effect.

The campaign was shot in Rhodes and is rolling out across social platforms, YouTube, streaming, and TV in the Nordics.
