TripAdvisor launches new TripCast video format and invites content partnerships
Mar. 20, 2017
Travel giant, TripAdvisor, is launching a new video format in the UK dedicated to the country’s top destinations based on their popularity on the social network.
TripCast, the new video format for the UK’s leading travel channel, with 21.7m unique users a month, is being produced and marketed by Geocast TV, is looking for a single/exclusive creative content partner for the first year. Geocast TV also created films for Visit Britain which generated 25m views.
Kirk Friis, TripCast’s producer at Geocast TV, explains:
“Video is underutilised within travel communication. This is set to change. With TripCast on TripAdvisor, brands can access a highly trusted media context for travel - one of the nation’s biggest passion points.”
TripAdvisor covers 500 specific UK destinations and Geocast TV has formed partnerships with the Travel Boards at a local level so the TripCast content programme also has grass roots involvement.
The content will draw upon TripAdvisor reviews for the best places to go, things to do, places to stay, places to eat. The short films which will be housed in the premium viewing position on both desktop and mobile, are made for people who are planning to travel or are already in destination. They are shot and edited from the point of view of a visitor and will focus on the top tips to be found in the social network.
