tenthree Welcomes Award-Winning Editor Dan Sherwen as Partner

Renowned London-based editing house tenthree is thrilled to welcome award-winning editor Dan Sherwen to its roster as partner.

In a remarkable journey that spans over 15 years, tenthree was founded by Billy Mead in a room on Newburgh Street. Rising from its humble origins to establish itself as one of the leading edit houses in London, the studio expanded to occupy the whole building and gained further momentum with the addition of Ed Hoadley and Quin Williams two years later.

Since then, tenthree has cultivated an impressive roster that blends promising talent with established industry leaders, with their editors consistently among the most awarded in the business. With a distinct emphasis on collaboration and collective success, tenthree fosters an environment where editors not only excel individually, but also support each other at every stage of the creative process. Such collaborative spirit which has been pivotal in the company’s continued success and growth. The arrival of Dan is a testament to the achievements tenthree has realised in recent years - and its ability to not only recognise and nurture young talent, but attract the very best in the industry.

Dan joins tenthree from Final Cut, where his role as director and editor saw him garner  recognition at various advertising festivals - including a Cannes Lions award for his role in The New York Times’ ‘The Truth Takes a Journalist’ campaign from Droga5 New York. Regular appearances in Televisual's annual list of top advertising editors and multiple Shots Editor of the Year award nominations further underscore his prominence. Dan is currently finishing a campaign for Squarespace directed by Juan Cabral, which is currently in post production.

He has also edited music videos for renowned artists including Chemical Brothers, U2, Massive Attack and George Michael. Captivated by the fusion of music and storytelling, he secured the inaugural UKMVA Best Music Video Editor award in 2008 and again in 2014. With seven nominations in total, Dan remains driven to secure a third victory as partner and editor at tenthree.

tenthree has also amassed an enviable collection of industry awards over recent years, including Bronze in 2021 and 2022 for Shots Editing House of the Year. The edit house has been consistently recognised at the British Arrows, picking up an award at every Arrows celebration since 2019. 2022 was a stellar year, whereby tenthree were awarded a Gold, Silver and Bronze for editing. Alongside these accolades, the company has been honoured at the Creative Circle, 1.4 Awards, and D&AD.

With the addition of Dan to their already stellar roster of award-winning editors, including fellow partner Ellie Johnson (who topped the Televisual list of top editors last year) and Oscar and BAFTA-winning Stephen Dunne, tenthree is poised to strengthen its position as one of London’s foremost editing houses.

Ed Hoadley, Managing Director at tenthree, speaks on the exciting new hire:

“Dan is someone we have respected for years. The fact that someone of his calibre, coming from a global powerhouse like Final Cut, is joining us speaks volumes about the reputation we’ve built.”

Dan Sherwen, Editor and Partner at tenthree, added:

“tenthree is a company I've watched grow and have admired for many years. They've signed some seriously great talent in recent years and it’s truly an honour to be joining them and working alongside the likes of Billy Mead, Ellie Johnson and Steven Dunne. I feel we have the strength and depth to be right up there with the best edit houses in London and I’m really looking forward to contributing to that success.”
