Swedish burger chain takes on McDonald’s with data.
Oct. 11, 2018
On the 14th of June, MAX became one of the first companies in the world that are Climate Positive, meaning every bite of their burgers helps to improve the climate. The process can be hard to grasp, so Acne decided to use actual data from MAX to create a visualisation of everything that happens. This allows the customer to follow, in real time, everything from how much CO2 emissions Max binds and emits to how many dipping sauces are being sold, every second. They even added how many clowns they have in the restaurant (hint the number is 0), a clear jab to their biggest competitor.
The data visualisation project is online at everysecond.io/maxburgers and was developed in collaboration with the site’s founder Neal Agarwal. The fact that McDonald’s already has their data visualized on the same site allows the customer to compare the two.
Other companies visualised at everysecond.io are, for example, Spotify, Facebook and Apple.
