Stone Dogs Announces Expansion of Studio, New Executive Producer
Feb. 24, 2022
Boutique VFX and finishing house Stone Dogs has today announced the expansion of its studio, relocating to a larger office to provide a wider, more flexible service to clients.
The new space, located next to Lincoln Fields, will roughly double Stone Dogs’ current footprint. In order to deliver on this increased scope and flexibility of services, the studio has invested in both its backend capabilities - increasing capacity and speed of storage - and a brand new cooled server cabinet.
This expanded facility follows a successful year for Stone Dogs, who have worked on major campaigns for brands including Compare the Market, Vitality, and Charmin. A key highlight was the studio’s extensive work on PartyCasino’s new partnership with McLaren, which included multiple teasers and an epic TVC campaign across the UK and Canada. Working closely with PartyCasino - as well as SNAP London, Blink Productions, and Orchard - Stone Dogs was involved from the initial brief to craft a hyper-real, visually striking, environment for McLaren’s F1 car to inhabit.

In addition to the new office space, Stone Dogs is excited to announce Kabir Malik has joined the team as Executive Producer. Kabir joins from Bubble TV Group, where he was responsible for creating and building the commercials picture department. Prior to that, he worked as an Executive Producer for both production and post-production projects, having developed his craft at a range of VFX studios. He now represents Stone Dogs alongside Orchard for CG, which complements both company’s creative services and helps the team deliver on more complex CG and VFX combined projects. On top of this, he will place any of his own production requirements with the appropriate studio, strengthening Stone Dogs’ ties with the industry.
Commenting on the expansion, Brian Carbin, Co-Founder and Flame Artist at Stone Dogs, says:
“Whilst a lot of companies are downsizing, we wanted to future proof ourselves for the next couple of years. We think flexible working is here to stay, and we’ve had to adapt the way we work - but in many ways that’s made us more efficient. We see this new, bigger space as an opportunity to expand and contract depending on the projects we take on.”
On the appointment of Kabir Malik, Dave Kiddie, Co-Founder and VFX Artist, adds:
“Kabir has a complete understanding of our industry and how to structure a project from sales to delivery. He’s got a proven track record of growing every business he has worked in and we are so happy that he has joined Stone Dogs, where I know he will do the same.”
