Miamis Biggest Sports Stars Join Forces in Support of The Miami Foundation
Nov. 07, 2022
Athletes from the world of Basketball, American Football, Soccer, Baseball and Ice Hockey have joined forces to donate their autograph to that most precious and prized piece of sporting memorabilia - the signed jersey - to raise funds for Give Miami Day, the annual donation campaign by The Miami Foundation.
Jersey for Miami was created by independent creative agency Founders, a campaign which brought the sports stars together to donate a series of unique signed jerseys in exchange for donations to support over 1,000 nonprofits supporting the most pressing social issues affecting the Greater Miami community such as equality, inclusion, the environment, animal welfare, culture and education, among others.
The Jersey for Miami promotional film will be running on The Miami Foundation’s social channels.
Sports fans can win specially-created one-of-a-kind signed jerseys with all of the stars' autographs on one shirt, combining the magic of Miami’s Basketball, American Football, Soccer, Baseball and Ice Hockey star players.
To win the shirts and other prizes, fans are directed to www.jerseyformiami.org and asked to create a profile, which they can then share with friends and start raising funds for their favourite causes. One dollar raised equals one point, and the more donations raised, the closer they become to winning the jerseys as well as other prizes.
The top 3 scorers will win a set of 5 signed jerseys, $5,000 cash prize and a $5,000 Give Miami Day giftcard to support any charitable organisation supported by the initiative.
The fundraising competition is open until November 11 and winners will be announced at a special event on Give Miami Day, November 17.
There's also a TikTok challenge for anyone unable to donate. All they have to do is use the stitch function to connect their video to any of the player ones. The start point is here.
The stars supporting Give Miami Day are Baseball player JJ Bleday of the Miami Marlins, American Football player Jaelan Phillips of the Miami Dolphins, Basketball player for Miami Heat Gabe Vincent, Soccer players for Inter Miami Leonardo Campana, Robert Taylor and Gregore, Ice Hockey players for Florida Pathers Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart.
Over the past decade, Give Miami Day has raised more than $100 million for local causes. In 2021 over $32 million was raised in a single day.
