M&C Saatchi UK Appoints T&Pm's Emma Storer as Group Chief Marketing Officer to Maximise Cultural Power Positioning

Dec. 13, 2024

M&C Saatchi UK has today announced the appointment of Emma Storer as Group Chief Marketing Officer, as it seeks to maximise its new Cultural Power positioning and unify new business efforts across the group.

Storer joins M&C Saatchi with 24 years of experience in new business and marketing, spanning media and creative agencies as well as consultancies, with leadership positions in both independent and network businesses. She moves from global integrated agency T&Pm, recently acquired by WPP, where she served as Group Chief Marketing Officer, EMEA. During her tenure, she was part of the team that led the agency’s shift to AI-powered solutions and spearheaded its broader business transformation. Her leadership drove innovation across all markets and business areas, securing major pitches for brands including KitchenAid, William Hill and Purplebricks. She was also instrumental in positioning the agency as an industry leader, paving the way for its acquisition and future growth.

Storer’s previous agency experience include positions at PHD, Saatchi & Saatchi, RKCR/Y&R, McCann Erickson, Profero, Digitas, VMLY&R, and Brainlabs. Throughout her career, she has led high-profile pitches across a wide range of disciplines, for brands such as EasyJet, Mars, Diageo, and HSBC.

In her new role as Group Chief Marketing Officer at M&C Saatchi, Storer will spearhead the launch of the agency’s new Cultural Power proposition, highlighting the many successes from within M&C Saatchi’s specialist disciplines, from consulting through to sports and entertainment. She will work to reinforce the agency’s position as the world’s largest independent agency network, driving organic growth and securing high-profile new business opportunities.

In addition to leading the M&C Saatchi UK Group new business teams, Storer will work with the global team to unify and energise the agency’s new business network.

Storer will join M&C Saatchi UK’s leadership team, reporting directly to UK Group CEO Jo Bacon. She will also collaborate closely with Global Joint Chief Creative Officers Rob Doubal and Laurence Thomson, as well as the soon-to-be-announced Chief Strategy Officer.

Storer will officially join the agency in February 2025.

The appointment is part of a series of significant senior people moves at M&C Saatchi UK over the past year. These include Jo Bacon’s promotion from UK CEO, a role she took on in May, to UK Group CEO in June; and the naming of Rob Doubal and Laurence Thomson as Global Joint Chief Creative Officers.

Jo Bacon, Group CEO, M&C Saatchi UK, said:

"I'm absolutely thrilled to have Emma joining us. Having worked with her previously, I know first-hand just how brilliant she is. She has an incredible breadth of diverse experience, having worked across media, creative, and consultancy roles on both the independent and network sides. What really stands out about Emma is her energy and passion. She has an amazing ability to bring people together while staying laser-focused on the details. Her knack for blending cultural and creative insights is such a great fit with our Cultural Power positioning. I can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make as one of the most experienced and respected CMOs in the business."

Emma Storer, new Group Chief Marketing Officer, M&C Saatchi UK, added:

"I'm really excited to be joining M&C Saatchi at such a pivotal time for the business. The new Cultural Power positioning is a bold and exciting direction, and I’m looking forward to helping bring it to life. What drew me to this role is the incredible breadth of talent and expertise within M&C Saatchi, and the opportunity to showcase those successes more widely and for people to really connect with their Cultural Power proposition. It’s a privilege to join a team that’s so passionate about creativity and collaboration. I can’t wait to get going, working with Jo and the leadership team to drive growth, build connections across the network, and help take the agency to the next level. I also want to thank the team at T&Pm for all we’ve achieved together. I’m proud of the growth capability we’ve built and know they’ll continue to thrive."
