Lime Launches "Lime Like a Local" for Authentic, Affordable Travel
Nov. 12, 2025
Lime, a global leader in micromobility, today announced the launch of its "Lime Like A Local" campaign, empowering tourists on their ride when visiting new cities over the holidays.
The campaign aims to provide clear guidelines for both locals and tourists on how to safely and respectfully use Lime's vehicles, with a focus on rider safety, responsible parking, and adherence to local regulations–while also reminding riders using Lime in a different country to “Lime Like a Local,” and be respectful of local customs. Many of Lime’s first-time riders are tourists highlighting an opportunity to help encourage and teach safe-riding behavior from the get-go.
To showcase how simple and stress-free holiday travel can be, Lime also teamed up with renowned content creator Kevin Droniak. In partnership with Uber, Droniak embarks on a 24-hour adventure in Athens, Greece. He uses Lime scooters within the Uber app to navigate and explore local hotspots, all while demonstrating how micromobility is the perfect solution for travelers committed to a "Lime Like a Local" experience. Kevin's content encourages riders to learn the local rules of the roads when traveling and always be sure to Lime safely.
A new study from Talker Research of US travelers found that a “majority of Americans feel ‘plagued’ by nerves and anxiety by the mere thought of international travel…” and that roughly 40% of these respondents reported concerns about transportation. The “Lime Like a Local” campaign aims to address the common travel anxieties around transportation during the busy holiday season, while also improving how locals perceive visitors through encouraging better riding etiquette.
By providing clear guidelines and promoting micromobility as a safe, reliable, and stress-free option, Lime helps riders explore with confidence and connect with their destination more authentically. The goal is to turn holiday travel anxiety into an opportunity for genuine discovery, highlighting how Lime is committed to being a good neighbor to both local residents and visitors alike.
The campaign reinforces key safety principles that Lime encourages all riders to follow:
- Wear a helmet: Helmets are recommended for every ride. Safety is the number one priority.
- No tandem or underage riding: Lime strictly prohibits riding with more than one person per vehicle or riding by anyone under the age of 18
- Don't drink and Lime: Riding under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance is illegal and poses a significant danger to both the rider and other locals.
- Ride in designated lanes: Riders should always use cycle lanes and roads, respecting traffic lights and fellow road users. Sidewalks and pedestrian areas are off-limits unless local laws explicitly permit it.
- Park like a local: Parking may look a bit different than what travelers are used to. Riders either need to park their vehicle in a parking bay, bike rack or neatly to the sidewalk. Riders can look in the Lime App to see the best way to park when they reach their destination.
Emily Peykar, Global PR Lead at Lime said:
"Our goal is to make every ride a positive experience, not just for our own riders but for the entire local community. ’The ‘Lime LIke A Local' campaign is about empowering our riders with the knowledge they need to be responsible members of the cities they visit. By following these simple rules, everyone can enjoy the convenience of micromobility while keeping our streets safe and accessible."
