Gallery Grip Reinvents the Way We Hang Art

Gallery Grip Reinvents the Way We Hang Art

It can take years to make great art and just seconds to hang it poorly. To combat the all-too-common difficulties of mounting artwork, founder and inventor Melanie Courtois created Gallery Grip, an innovative art hanging system that’s engineered to deliver professional results without the hassle.

Creative company Zulu Alpha Kilo (Z.A.K.) led the development of Gallery Grip’s visual identity, crafting a modern design system that brings the brand to life while reflecting the product’s clean, precise, and intentional design.

Built from the ground up, the team defined Gallery Grip’s visual language across product colours, packaging, and overall brand expression. At its core is a simplified double ‘G’ mark, a thoughtful visualization of the product’s functionality, expanding and contracting to convey simplicity and responsiveness throughout the brand.

Stephanie Yung, Chief Design Officer at Zulu Alpha Kilo said:

“There is an art to hanging art, and Gallery Grip makes a sometimes frustrating process feel effortless. We wanted to create a design universe that captured the true essence of the brand: the intersection of simplicity and precision, innovation and craftsmanship, while remaining accessible for the everyday person.”

This design universe extends into a warm, understated palette and a modern sans-serif type system, alongside carefully crafted packaging, a how-to manual, artist profile card, and illustrated ‘G’ characters. The result is a cohesive identity that is both simple and refined, equally at home in an art gallery or a living room.

Melanie Courtois, Gallery Grip’s founder and inventor said:

"Hanging art is a universal frustration that hasn’t seen real innovation in 30 years. Gallery Grip changes that and makes it effortless for anyone to express themselves and transform their walls into a personal story."

Gallery Grip was not only created to make hanging art easier and reflect the care that went into choosing it. The brand also brings the same level of dedication to supporting working artists. To reinforce that ethos, Z.A.K. incorporated emerging artists’ stories and work throughout the brand platform. And to further highlight Gallery Grip’s story, Z.A.K. crafted an elegant behind-the-scenes video with Courtois, giving her the space to tell the story of the brand’s inspiration, development, and vision in her own words.
