Dals Appoints Marketing and Sales Director Following Brand Overhaul
Apr. 08, 2025
Leading language service provider Dals (formerly DA Languages) has appointed Jon Burke as its Group Marketing and Sales Director.
Jon brings with him more than 20 years of marketing experience on an international scale. He joins Dals from the pharmaceutical research organisation Sygnature Discovery, where he oversaw marketing and sales. Prior to this, Jon held senior marketing roles at post-merger integration specialists Global PMI Partners roles, marketing consultancy Osmaston Associates and European industrial supplier Rubix.
As Group Marketing and Sales Director, Jon will drive forward marketing following Dals’ rebrand. This centres around the company’s drive to make "Everyone understood", using video, telephone and face-to-face interpreting, while also emphasising its technology and ESG credentials. Late last year, the language service provider announced its aim of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
A key part of its ESG strategy involves its recently introduced on-demand video interpreting service, which is playing a significant role in reducing both its own carbon footprint and that of its clients.
Prior to Covid, video interpreting made up just 1% of the company’s 15,000 transactions per day, but this has now risen to 10% and the company is targeting a further rise to 25%.
In-person and telephone interpreting will continue to be core to the company’s offering, with it aiming to provide clients with a wide range of options to suit all of their interpreting needs.
Matthew Taylor, CEO at Dals, said:
“It’s a huge pleasure to have Jon on the Dals team to lead on marketing our new brand. We’re committed to providing high quality, accessible language services in the most sustainable way possible; and with over two decades of experience creating very successful marketing strategies, we strongly feel that Jon is the right person to tell this story.”
Jon Burke, Group Marketing and Sales Director at Dals, said:
“I am delighted to have joined Dals as Group Marketing and Sales Director. The coming months will see big ambitions become exciting realities for Dals and its clients, and I look forward to driving the narrative around this ESG evolution.”
