Stephen is drawn to projects that blend emotional depth and visual experimentation, finding the human truth inside the footage with his cuts. He works at the height of cinematic craftsmanship, with a playful, collaborative style grounded in trust and honesty. Stephen’s varied artistic background includes
photography, writing, and music, allowing him to draw inspiration from diverse modalities to create something entirely new and perfectly aligned with each film.

He edited the short film “An Irish Goodbye,” which won Best Live Action Short at both the BAFTAs and Academy Awards, and the feature film Last Swim, which won the Crystal Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival. His other accolades include three AICP wins, including Best in Show for the BBC’s “Trust is Earned” campaign, along with three Creative Circle Awards, and several more British Arrows, D&AD Black Pencils, Shots, and Kinsale Shark Awards. He has edited countless spots for brands like WhatsApp, Nike, Adidas, Gatorade, PlayStation, and automotive companies, including Dodge, Hyundai, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ford, and Rolls-Royce.

Stephen remarks on signing with Cut+Run:

The roster is exceptional, the culture feels genuinely collaborative, and there’s a real appetite for pushing work into unexpected places. It felt like the right home for the next chapter of my career and an exciting opportunity to continue growing both creatively and internationally.”

Amburr Farls, Managing Partner of Cut+Run added:
