Bicoastal Production Company IMPOSTER Launches With Executive Producer Avtar Khalsa at the Helm
Jan. 15, 2019
IMPOSTER announces their US opening with a roster of international and award-winning directors/creators/artists. With offices in both NYC and LA, the company will serve as a hub for diverse and emerging creatives producing branded films, commercials, music videos, narrative shorts, photos, and installations.
Executive Producer Avtar Khalsa will lead the bicoastal company, working off 15 years of experience producing for directors such as Marielle Heller, Karim Huu Do, and Kat Keene as well as running her company Baby Panther. Joining her will be Alexis Celic as Head of Production and Alex Brinkman as Producer. Collectively, the crew has decades of experience working for CAVIAR, PULSE, CHELSEA PICTURES, MPC, and ANONYMOUS CONTENT.
Adjusting to the changing and ever unpredictable forms of advertising, IMPOSTER aims to balance both cutting-edge talent and innovative approaches to production. “Talent is most important for us. We aim to be a guiding voice for the best creators out there,” say Khalsa, speaking to the company’s roster. “We want our directors and future clients to come to us because we’re real people and passionate collaborators, not a company with a logo and an Eames chair.”
Khalsa tapped Celic and Brinkman to join forces as IMPOSTER, having previously worked together while at FishFace. Building off the strong reputation they’ve cultivated with clients such as adidas, Gap, Instagram, and Google, IMPOSTER plans to continue these relationships in their new venture.
IMPOSTER’s roster of creators includes directing collective Kinopravda, Sergi Castellà, Thomas Ralph, Robin Comisar, Josh Borock, Justin Tyler Close, and Andrew Nisinson.
IMPOSTER is represented by Uncle Lefty on the East Coast, Shortlist MGMT on the West, and Baer Brown in the Midwest.
