1stAveMachine, a creative production studio, has signed Amsterdam-based Director Tim Bierbaum for representation across their global roster.
Bierbaum is a comedy director that excels at telling absurd and outrageous stories with a grounded and playful approach. With an extensive background in short form comedy, he gained widespread recognition for the cult-favorite YouTube video, Everyone’s Upstairs Neighbors. As both an articulate writer and versatile director, he has already led high-impact campaigns with 1stAveMachine for an impressive roster of clients, including tech innovators like Meta and Google, global leaders such as the United Nations, and beloved consumer brands like CeraVe.
Sam Penfield, Executive Producer and Partner at 1stAveMachine said:
“We’re thrilled to officially welcome Tim Bierbaum to the 1stAveMachine roster. On a personal note, Tim has been a constant collaborator for nearly a decade, and he has been an absolute joy to work with. We are excited to deepen our relationship.”
Tim Bierbaum, Director at 1stAveMachine said:
“I was a fan of 1stAveMachine before I ever worked with them, so joining the roster is both surreal and incredibly exciting. What sets 1stAve apart is how fully they support and champion the creative. They’re not just trying to make good work, they’re absolutely committed to making exceptional work, and they throw a ridiculous amount of production firepower at making it happen. I learn something valuable on every project, whether it’s from another director I’m collaborating with, or one of the brilliant producers, or the amazing crews they somehow always pull together. It’s a real privilege to get to work with all these talented people and I can’t wait to kick off this next chapter with them.”
Bierbaum began his career in the sketch comedy world where he directed digital series for Comedy Central's Broad City and Alternatino, and Netflix's Astronomy Club. Other past clients include Above Average, Entertainment Weekly, Pop Sugar, Mojo Supermarket, Snapchat, and The ACLU. As an actor's director, Bierbaum has facilitated naturalistic performances from non-actors to celebrities and everyone in between.
