In fact, some hang their helmets around their elbows and ride feeling safe enough: safe from the heat, from ruining their hair, even from fines since they can pop their helmet on if they see the traffic police. This makes them look like they’d rather save their elbows than their heads. If they are going to pretend their elbows matter more, we are going to play along.
